New Course Enrollment Process for Merage School MBA Alumni

After you receive your degree from the Merage School, your education doesn't have to stop. Both the School and the University offer programs that allow alumni to expand on current knowledge and add skills in areas not yet explored.

Beginning Fall Quarter 2017, there are new options for MBA alumni course enrollment (“auditing”).

The Merage School offers course enrollment privileges for all UC Irvine MBA alumni in good standing, in select MBA elective courses. Please note that core classes are not open to alumni. Course availability is based on: approval by the program offices, space availability and classroom dynamics.

There are two levels of auditing; please note on your application which level you want. For both options, alumni are responsible for purchasing any textbooks and/or other course materials (either through the university or on the open market), lab fees (if required) and payment for parking while on campus. Enrollees are subject to the same campus and classroom policies that apply to all enrolled students.

  1. Class access only (free). If approved, this will only grant you a seat in class. Electronic access to course material, a grade or transcript credit will not be provided. Online courses are not available for this option.
  2. Formal course enrollment. ($500 fee). Enrollment will grant you:
    • A letter grade and course credit on your transcript (making classes eligible for corporate reimbursement programs)
    • Access to course material on EEE and Canvas
    • Options to audit online and hybrid courses

Informally “dropping in on” classes is not permitted. All alumni must register, no later than the posted deadline.

The above policy and procedures are subject to change without notice.

    • Download the auditing application form
    • Digitally fill out and return to Alumni Relations
    • When your application has been approved you will be contacted with further details
    • Please do not contact the professor or show up in class without receiving advance approval
    • Fall Audit Schedule - All applications for Fall Quarter must be received no later than September 20, 2017 at 3 pm.No exceptions can be made. Fall Quarter classes begin Sept. 28. Please note that schedules, once posted, are subject to change, and space is limited. Please do not contact the professor or show up in class without filling out an application and receiving advance permission. Thank you.

About the Center’s Women’s Programming

We believe affluent women continue to be overlooked in the marketplace. The Center organizes events for women that provide a safe and private educational environment. Programming focuses on critical family dynamics that in many cases are the most challenging issues. In addition to having several dynamic key-note women speakers, topic discussions are interactive and often facilitated panel discussions made up of women peers from a variety of backgrounds who are willing to generously share their experiences to allow others to benefit. The Center’s intent is to provide meaningful discourse that are free of advertisements, marketing, firm sponsors or biases and is intended to be purely informational and educational. UC Irvine is a premiere academic research institution and the Center is the premier resource for women managing wealth.

Programming Benefits

  1. A trusted network of peers and like-minded women
  2. It is an opportunity to share valuable information, resources, build relationships, network and bond with other affluent women
  3. Education and training enhancements customized to attendees’ interests
